After a busy time at home, I needed calm, nature, and something a little luxe — not a party vibe, just peace. Padma Ubud; had been on my wishlist forever: a jungle resort with an infinity pool I’d seen a hundred times on Pinterest. It did not disappoint.
Where it is?
The resort is about 30–40 minutes north of Ubud in a quiet village called Payangan. Think bamboo forests, misty valleys, and total stillness. There’s a free shuttle into Ubud, but honestly, you might not want to leave.
My room
I stayed in a Premier Room with a balcony overlooking the jungle. The bed was so comfy I nearly missed breakfast (which you shouldn’t – more on that below).
What I loved most
The heated infinity pool is absolutely iconic. Floating there at sunrise = instant zen.
The spa is next-level — tucked by a river, with one of the best massages I’ve ever had.
Everyone on staff made me feel like I was the only guest. So warm.
Food vibes
Breakfast is a thing here. Tropical fruit, fresh juices, local dishes, pastries… all with that misty view. I also had a great mie goreng one night at the Pool Café. Bonus: they cater well to dietary needs.
Things to know
It’s quiet — come here to chill, not to bar-hop.
Wifi is great (I worked a few hours from the balcony with no issue).
Book spa sessions early — they fill up fast!
Would I go back?
100%. Ideal for solo travelers, couples, or anyone who needs to slow down and reconnect. Not the cheapest spot, but so worth it for a few days of luxury in nature.
